The back story is this:
A Joplin Missouri Equine group rescues horses from kill buyers; horse brokers who purchase horses to sell for slaughter.
The Joplin group collects "bail" to purchase the horses from the "kill
buyer", makes the purchase, rehabs the horses, and find them good homes.
The mare in question was purchased from the kill buyer for an estimated $550.00, by the Joplin rescue group.
Kelsey Myers was agreeable to take the horse on, under the verbal agreement that she would rehab the horse.
But Myers didn’t have the entire amount to "bail" the horse out. She only had $150.00.
Believing that Myers' would be providing the horse a good home and it
would be vetted and cared for, the Joplin group raised an additional
$400 to make the mare's bail.
Within four days of Myers taking possession of the mare, she listed the mare FOR SALE ON CRAIG'S LIST FOR A WHOPPING $800.
As soon as the head of the Joplin group saw the ad on Craig's list she
called Myers out and offered to refund Myers $150 if she would just
return the mare.
Realizing she'd been ousted for what would
certainly be considered unethical behavior, even for a horse
dealer/broker, Myers removed the ad from Craig's List. She replied to
the head of the Joplin group that they could certainly have the mare
back, but the Joplin leader would have to pay her $800 and not the $150
Myers had originally invested.
Myers first told us (Pet
Flippers Exposed) that she put the $800 price tag on the horse to insure
it got a good home and was not resold. If that were true why would she
not return the horse, get her refund, and be done with the matter?
Because her intent was never to rescue the horse. It was to sell it for profit. She's a flipper plain and simple.
Myers committed fraud when she took possession of the horse under the
guise of rescue. A horse paid for through donations that were made by
people under the impression the horse was somehow being rescued.
The fact that Myers led the Joplin group to believe she would be
rehabbing the mare was a scam when her intent the whole time was to make
a cool few hundred bucks off the mare, at the expense of others who
donated to the horse’s “rescue.”
It is without a doubt that no
one donating money for the mare’s bail had any idea that Myers would be
flipping the animal in a matter of days.
Myers does NOT have a
license through the Missouri Department of Agriculture to
broker/deal/trade horses. She is trading illegally. She is not rescuing
horses, she is buying and selling them without proper care, quarantine,
or vetting.
HORSE RESCUERS- Stay clear of Kelsey Myers. Her
intent is not to rescue animals but to make money off of flipping them
for a quick profit.
HORSE TRADERS- If you are dealing with
Kelsey Myers, be aware that horse that come from rescue should be
quarantined for a minimum of 21 days after purchase. Make sure you know
where the horses you are getting from Myers are coming from. If they are
from a rescue and she flips them within days with no rehab, vetting, or
quarantine, your purchase from her could cause illness and death in
your own animals.
Read the attached screen shots to see Myer's correspondence with us on this matter.
Update: 11:00 pm 03-19
The Mare is safely back in rescuers hands. Myers SOLD the mare back to
the same rescuers she duped out of the money to obtain the horse. Price
tag, $800.

Heather and William (Billy) Dugger of
Poplar Bluff, Mo. claimed their rise to shame this week as they were
exposed as pet flippers. It was this exposure that led to their arrest
and subsequent child endangerment charges for the pair.
Heather
Dugger has several online aliases and Facebook profiles for each one.
Those include:
Heather Vaughn, Heather Nicole Vaughn, Heather Nicole, Heather Dugger, Heather Nicole Dugger, Mia Dugger, Heather Hastings, Heather Marie, Ashley Hart
William Dugger has three
separate Facebook profiles listed under the name William Dugger and at
least one listed as Billy Dugger.
Using these names and aliases
the Duggers have acquired and resold more than a dozen animals in a
period of about 4-6 months. That number continues to grow as the case
unfolds and more and more people recognize their names, aliases, and
faces.
One of those pets, a Miniature Pinscher named Bear age 15 months, died under suspicious circumstances while in their care.

Sherry Ross has been reported to this page by two people out of the Kansas City area.
Finally got some screen shots on her.
The deal here is she is getting rid of one dog because "her daughter
won't take care of it and she doesn't have time", yet she is inquiring
about another small dog to purchase, all at the same time.
The page admin called her out on it and she has gone silent.
Sherry Ross has two different profiles but both under the same name.
Be aware.

Promises good home, promises to vet animals. Flips animals almost immediately.
Album includes screen shots of two separate conversation we have had
with Micah as she attempts to get us to remove this, her album of shame.
In the second conversation she tries to convince the admins
on this page that the first conversation was not her, but an impostor.
We contend that both conversations with two separate id's (Star Jones and Micah Smiley) are indeed both with Micah.
Good try kid ;-)
